Definitely a nice spot for a date night or girls night out. I came here last Friday during a storm. The place is pretty small and tables were getting booked pretty quick. I had the lo ba beng which was pretty light and tasty. Definitely book a reservation regardless of any bad weather haha.

886 is my Guhguh's favorite Taiwanese restaurant in Manhattan. For you dorks who aren't Bilingual, Guhguh (哥哥) means "big bro" in Mandarin. Guhguh is from Taiwan and is the most critical reviewer of Asian food I've ever met in my life, so when he said he liked this place I knew it was about to go crazy. We walked in through the neon lighting and Taiwanese posters plastered on the walls, and were seated in these tiny plastic stools that brought me straight back to my time in Vietnam. Oh you haven't been to Vietnam? Oh, okay. Guhguh and I had a FEAST that went as follows: Three-Cup Chicken, Sesame Noodles, Fly's Head, Taiwanese Sausage, Scallion Pancakes, Beef Noodle Soup, Sacha Black Pepper Beef, and the Popcorn Chicken. It was actually so much food it was crazy. This was the most full I've been since Guhguh and I got triple pork at Orozco's in Puerto Rico. You ever been so full you feel your stomach expand? Guhguh's favorites were the Three-Cup Chicken and Sesame noodles, while mine were the Popcorn Chicken and Sacha Beef. That Sacha Beef was one of the best stir fry's I've had in a minute. A fantastic meal for "almost authentic" Taiwanese food, according to Guhguh. I love this place. I love my Guhguh too man. The best food buddy I could ever ask for. Everyone needs someone who is just down to try new restaurants all the time. SACHA BLACK PEPPER BEEF ALL STARS! Ig @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Came here for some lights bites and drinks. The fried chicken was really dank and the sauce solid.

I visited during a weekday lunch. It was not busy at all, so it was great place to catch up with a friend. The Taiwanese food was great! Hakka stir fry was really well-seasoned. It has a very slight spicy kick, which I liked. We also got the lo ba beng. The rice portion wasn't that big, but the rest of the toppings were flavourful. The portions aren't too big, so it might be better to order a few things and share with people. The vibe is more tailored for nightlife and drinking, which may explain the lack of business during lunch hours. I can see it get crowded at night. If you're just going for food, I would recommend going during the daylight.
